Charity work

Our charity work. Using our photography skills to help those less fortunate around us.

In a world that is suffering in so many ways, we believe the most beautiful thing is a relationship that is based on love that is selfless, sacrificial and servant hearted.

We spent a month in Colombia on a project that aimed to celebrate what is a good in a place of great poverty: Family.

We visited and stayed in 3 different slum communities in and around Bogota and Santa Marta. Having set up a sponsorship programme back in the U.K, with the help of the local church, we visited 85 different families, mostly in their homes where we took a family photo and then went away and had it printed and framed for them.

In these communities, most families had never had a photo taken - this was their first. Our aim was to link them with a sponsor family back home in the U.K – and through the money given, provide them with a framed photo to help them celebrate what they did have and to encourage them to continue to invest in what they held so dear in the years to come. They didn’t have money, but they did have something far more important – family. Taking the photo also enabled the church to connect with people trapped in the most desperate situations.

We learnt so much during our time away and were truly moved by what we saw. Click on the thumbnails below to read the 4 blogs we wrote during our time there. If we had the chance, we would do it again tomorrow!
